2009 WHITE HEAT – UBERMENSCH – Writer Daniel Poole
Director/Producer Simon Temple, Producer Anna Temple
QPIX works under Contract to Screen Queensland and Screen Australia to develop and facilitate the production of an agreed number of short films and documentaries annually.
The QPIX production process happens in 3 stages, with some overlapping. We will call this second stage Act 2.
ACT 2 – TEAM BUILDING & PRE-PRODUCTION
NOTE: The process mapped below for dramas is quite similar to that which applies to documentary. However, In the case of the documentaries, some team members will be drawn in (eg DOPs editors, composers etc) but the writer of the project is assumed into the role of either producer or director, or both. Their skills are augmented with additional team members by the QPIX Executive Team where skills gaps are found.
2.1 Once the final set of scripts have been selected, the synopsis of each script is sent out to those producers and directors who have expressed interest in being involved in the production slate for that year.
2.2 The Supervising Producer works with the Executive Producer in assessing the proposals of interest and forming the teams of producer and director on each project.
2.3 Once the producers and directors are confirmed, the producers sign the QPIX Production Contract, and formal pre-production begins.
2.4 The films are assisted throughout pre-production, including the final building of the full team, casting, final script development, storyboarding, scheduling, location choices, insurances, releases and so on.
And then the leading lady and the leading man also really get on…

2008 RAW NERVE – HARRY THE GREAT
Writer/Director Dean Gibson, Producer Stephen Limkin
2.5 Producers are encouraged to seek additional investment. QPIX makes its partnership with the crowd funding site www.pozible.com.au available to the producers who can raise investment through the site at a reduced percentage commission.
