INDUSTRY TRAINING FOR
ABORIGINAL & TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER FILMMAKERS

BLACK PEARLS is a screen industry development and production system merged with a Diploma of Screen & Media (formerly Certificate IV), designed to develop the capacity of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander filmmakers  to tell their own stories and to build sustainable careers in the industry.

BLACK PEARLS is also designed to assist in the emergence of a key group of indigenous filmmakers who wish to specialise across the range of roles in the industry,  and who can begin to work in this state as the seed of an Black Film Unit, or begin their own production companies. These companies would then function as a business development platform for the new company or companies.
