STEPHEN KEIM SC (CHAIR)
Barrister in private practice since 1985, senior counsel since 2004. Stephen was a member of the Council of the Queensland University of Technology for 8 years. Stephen is President of Australian lawyers for Human Rights and Patron of Australians Against Capital Punishment. Stephen is a former President of the Queensland Council of Civil Liberties and of the Legal Aid Commission in Queensland. Stephen has also served on the Management Committees of several Queensland Community Legal Centres. Stephen writes on a number of matters and his opinion pieces have been published regularly in Justinian, Opinion Online and Inside.org. Stephen is book reviews editor of Hearsay, the magazine of the Queensland Bar Association where his own reviews also appear. Stephen also reviews books for the Courier-Mail. Stephen was awarded the Human Rights Medal in 2009 and was named jointly as The Australian newspaper’s Australian of the Year in 2007. Stephen’s actions in 2007 in defending Gold Coast doctor, Mohamed Haneef, against baseless allegations of involvement in illegal terrorism were influential in each of those awards.

Managing Partner, Sotherton’s International, Brisbane – Chartered Accountants – Specialist in business planning – also history in accounting for the film and arts sector.

WAYNE COOLWELL
Television Broadcast Journalist & Presenter, Producer, Social Development Designer – CEO, Centre for Aboriginal Independence and Enterprise (CAIE) – Designer and CEO of In-Roads, Australia’s first micro-loan system for Indigenous small business, in collaboration with Bendigo Bank, Community 21 and the Adelaide Bank – his TV series on National Indigenous Leaders is in development with ABC.

RICHARD STEWART
Executive Producer, Stewart/Wall Productions – Past Executive Director of Film Queensland, founding Chair Brisbane International Film Festival, past Chief Executive New Zealand Film Commission, first Australian Chair of the International Association of Film Commissions (IAFC) – most currently Producer feature Acolytes, TV series K9 – slate of animated & live action drama, television & transmedia now in development with international partners.

ANGELA WALSH
Producer, writer – features, television series, and radio, both documentary and drama. Productions in her own name and under contract to New Holland Pictures. Also professional voice-over artist and presenter.

DARE POWER
Managing Director Power Arts – International theatre and performing arts production and investment.  Power Arts have been collaborating producers on recent Australian tours of the musicals Wicked, Chicago, Fame and Doctor Zhivago, and recent full scale professional productions of Spring Awakening (with STC), Cabaret (with Zen Zen Zo and QPAC) and the new Australian work Metro Street (with Arts Asia Pacific and State Theatre of SA) as well as recent Broadway productions of Exit The King (winner – Tony Award for Best Actor, Geoffrey Rush) and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.  Power Arts also has interests in film production and exhibition.

MICHAEL GRAHAM
Managing Director M2 Marketing Matters – Marketing, Public Relations & Business Development specialist – Past General Manager Commercial Operations for Pacific Sports (Brisbane Broncos Ltd) and National Business Development Director Price Waterhouse Coopers; Consulted to wide range of companies including: Primac Holdings, MBF, Capricorn Coal, Suncorp, Bank of Qld, Careflight, Ergon Energy. Energex, North Qld Cowboys, Maritimo Boats, Tabcorp and many local and state government agencies.

JIM HENRY
Commenced career at Channel 7 Brisbane, later Radio & Television producer at J.Walter Thompson Advertising Sydney. Pioneered the licensing of Australian TV programmes and Feature films for Australian Film Commission in North America based both in New York & Los Angeles 1971 – 81, Head of Marketing and Distribution for South Australian Film Corporation, 1981 – 87 Represented London Weekend Television and Channel 4 (UK) programme Distribution in Australia, Founder and Director of Australian Video distribution company in co-venture with Publishing & Broadcasting Ltd; Senior Vice President of Grundy International worldwide distribution based in London and Amsterdam, General Manager of Pearson Television International London, Lecturer in International Film & Television marketing & Distribution at Bond University, Consultant to several Australian TV programme makers.

MURRAY POPE
Producer, VFX specialist, Art Director & Production Designer. Murray began his film career as an art director and production designer. After a period producing theatrical and television comedy in Europe, Japan and the US he returned to Australia and set up boutique digital effects company Lux Monkey. Lux Monkey was acquired by Sydney company Animal Logic in 2000 and he became head of Animal Logic’s film division. During this time he executive produced the VFX work in films such as Moulin Rouge, The Matrix Reloaded, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Quiet American and Hero. In 2005 he left Animal Logic to produce the $25m digitally animated children’s series Animalia for the BBC, PBS and Ten, and the $50m film Nim’s Island for Fox Walden. From early 2010 until April 2011 he was managing director of Australian software developer Homesoft Ltd. He has an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was the Digital Production Supervisor on Alex Proyas’ Knowing and is currently filling the same role on Spielberg’s series Terra Nova – he also has several features now under development.

 

BRIAN TUCKER CPA
Auditor – Accounting Consultant to QPIX Board – arts accounting and auditing specialist – past and present Board member on many arts organizations – working with over 120 companies and organizations across Australia – long experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander companies and organizations throughout the NT and elsewhere in remote Australia – holder of one of the most extensive private collections of contemporary Indigenous and non-Indigenous art in the country.
