Camera Crash Course Designed by QPIX in collaboration with award-winning filmmaker Lav Bodnaruk, this one day intensive course is ideal for aspiring camera operators and anyone who wants a comprehensive introduction to cameras. The day will be rounded out with hands-on camera work using the skills learnt earlier in the day.
Topics and skills covered include: • Technical breakdown of Panasonic HVX202 (P2) (camera explained inside out) • Video formats explained, including the situations where one format would be chosen over another • Breakdown of composition and correct framing for film and video shooting • Breakdown of Depth of Field (DOF) and its use in film and video shooting • A look at the P2 camera accessories and their uses (ie. tripods, follow focus, matt box, filters, etc)

About Your Tutor: Lav Bodnaruk Lav has been acknowledged as the Best Young Australian Filmmaker (Byron Bay Film Festival, 2008) and the Best Queensland Filmmaker (Heart of Gold Film Festival, 2009). Lav’s production company Lav Productions, has enabled him to bring a dozen short films (16mm and 35mm) to the screen, many of which he directed, produced and shot solo or with director Michael Mier. Lav’s recent projects include co-directing with Michael on the highly innovative 35mm short film “225”, as well as the TV series “Bachelor’s Guide” picked up by Comedy Channel Australia.
