QPS - When you get such great rental rates, with excellent technical advice and support, why would you go anywhere else!
QPS offers a wide and always evolving range of equipment and facilities to the independent filmmaker to shoot and edit on a range of digital video platforms. Elements of our equipment list can also be used in a film environment. Our gear is highly mobile, but can also be adapted to a studio environment. That mobility also enables QPS to resource productions in locations nationally and internationally (conditions apply). We also offer access to highly mobile and highly affordable Outside Broadcast facilities to help you capture sporting events, concerts, festivals and a host of other mass events.
In order to continue with our primary goal of building a strong screen industry in this state, our rates are very affordable, sitting as low in some cases as 50% below market rates. They are designed to help filmmakers make their work and grow their businesses. |

 The OB van includes all necessary equipment to complete an outside broadcast in a truly professional manner. Our OB vans are highly mobile and compact. They provide one of the most flexible broadcast-quality systems in the country. They are perfect for covering and recording a wide range of events, shows and programs including:-
- Sporting fixtures and events
- Festivals and outdoor music events
- Panel shows, game shows, conferences and forums
- Theatre, dance, concerts and variety programs

Welcome to QPIX’s equipment & facilities hire service, one of the many services available within our QPS. We always back up our hirers with technical advice, and we hold a range of equipment and facilities which includes:
- Outside Broadcast Vans (highly-mobile, compact, capable of up to 4 x camera shoots, ideal for sporting fixtures, arts and music festivals, outdoor and indoor entertainment events, performing arts events etc)
- DV, HDV and DVCPROHD cameras & accessories
- 16mm film cameras, including Super 16mm
- lighting and gaff equipment
- Field sound kits, microphones, and accessories
- Additional field kit materials (eg monitors etc)
- Range of dollies –
- light-weight with runs up to 20ft (6.5M)
- heavy-duty (35mm capable, and below) professional metal rail - 1 run to 23m (70ft) and a circle metal rail run of 5.5m (18ft)
- heavy-duty (35mm capable, and below) Weston rubber-tyred studio dolly -
- Jib-arms – professional heavy duty (35mm capable, and below) dolly mounted – reach of 4m at peak, 2.3m under-slung – adjustable to featherlight touch

Our rates are very competitive, and we offer packages.
QPIX updates its equipment and facilities as regularly as possible, and maintains a research approach to the rapidly changing technical environment within the screen industries. QPIX then passes on this techical knowledge to its hirers.
The QPS equipment hire service supports over 250 new productions every year, including short dramas, feature dramas, documentaries, community videos, corporate videos, music video clips, television commercials, and pilots and episodes for television series and other programs.
QPIX is a non-profit, industry-building operation rather than a straight commercial business so all earnings in QPS go back into assisting early-career professionals break into the screen industry. |
