We are calling for short film drama scripts for development and production in 2010 under the Screen

program and up to 5 scripts (around 10 minutes in length) will then be selected for production. An
additional script call is being made under the QPIX SHORT DRAMA Program. (See separate Guidelines
and Application Form). Writers wishing to apply for both are required to fill out separate Application Forms for each script.

Check the Guidlines and Application Form for more info.

Application Deadline is the 19th of March.

Raw Nerve is a national production initiative of Screen Australia with Screen Development Australia.  QPIX is a founding member of the national network Screen Development Australia.

With QPIX, this program is generally themed.  For 2010 there are multiple options check the guidelines for more info.

QPIX will facilitate the production of up to five dramas (up to 10 minutes in length) under this scheme. RAW NERVE gives emerging practitioners the opportunity to gain a screen credit within a national production initiative.

Selections for RAW NERVE will be made on the basis of Script only (synopsis and treatment required for submission). Those scripts must be unencumbered by option agreements to a Producer. However, it is understood that a Producer may have expressed interest in your script. If this is the case, please note this separately in your application. These producers will then be  considered for the role. The details of other interested Heads of Department may also be noted separately. Teams will be built under guidance and with the final approvals of the Supervising Producer and QPIX.

An industry panel will shortlist the scripts. Where it is judged necessary, the selected scripts may be required to be further developed based on assessment notes from the panel.

Details of the production parameters for the project will be available to successful projects, but will include:

  • Digital Camera Kit
  • Sound and Lighting Kit
  • Editing facilities
  • A cash budget
  • Public Liability Insurance

As the Writer, you will gain a significant screen credit.
