QPIX is Queensland's screen industry development centre, situated in Brisbane, Australia.  We are committed to developing independent production and independent screen production professionals in Queensland, and to linking the State independent sector with the industry at the national and international levels.  QPIX provides a range of integrated services to enable the development, production and exhibition of Queensland film, television and new media.

QPIX is a non-profit company.  QPIX must raise a significant amount of its own revenue in order to support operations and to continue delivering its services to the screen industry, but it is also supported financially by SCreen Queensland at the state level, and Screen Australia at the Federal level.

Lights, camera, action!

QPIX’s Young Filmmakers Holiday Course is ideal for aspiring filmmakers (11-15 years) who dream of acting, writing, directing or making home movies! Students will make their own short film, from creating the plot through to shooting and editing it a short film.  This is a 3 day course held every school holidays with all completed films entered into the largest short film festival for kids in Australia - Trop JR!

Direction of Script & Actor Short Course - Weekend of 20th & 21st Nov

QPIX's INTO THE LIGHT Screening

QPIX's annual INTO THE LIGHT Screening was held last Thursday with great success! Special guests included Aboriginal Elder and author, Aunty Ruth Hegart, the Premier's Representative - Deputy Director-General of Arts Queensland and member of the Screen Queensland board, Leigh Tabrett PSM and the Chair of QPIX's board, Stephen Keim SC. It was a fantastic celebration of QPIX's 2009 production work made in association with Screen Queensland and Screen Australia and the Department of Education and Training through QPIX's Black Pearls course for indigenous filmmakers.  To view photos from the event click 'Read More'.

QPIX is proud to announce that as part of the Screen Development Australia (SDA) network we can offer a full subsidy of course fees for The Dome Lab.  The Dome Lab is an intensive workshop investigating the potential and challenges involved with creating live action content for large format, frameless screens. Participants will have the opportunity to work alongside technical luminaries Academy-Award winner, Ben Shedd, 2010 Peter Rasmussen Award-winner, Peter Morse.
