The QPIX LABORATORIES were initiated in 2000 in order to intensively develop product, and refine professional skills. They run annually, and remain unique in Australia.  QPIX’s Laboratories continue to evolve. They are now also the primary method QPIX uses in the programs it delivers for Screen Queensland. More exciting changes are expected in the future.

QPIX Laboratories take many forms:

Producer’s Laboratories (drama, TV & documentary)

QPIX runs three Producers Lab's in Types I, II amd III:

Type I - produce a short film for QPIX and attend professional development intensives.

Type II - Intensive development of a slate of a minimum of three projects, with a supervising Executive Producer, targetting national broadcasters for pre-sales, and film agencies for support to attend international markets.

Type III - Post market visit debreif and strategy development. Screenwriter's Laboratories (drama, TV & documentary) QPIX runs writing laboratories in short-form drama, features, TV content, mobile content, and documentary (treatments).

Labs designed ready to roll include:

  • Director's Laboratory
