ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF SCREEN & MEDIA
(Writing, Producing, Directing)
production IS training
The QPIX SCREEN INDUSTRY ACADEMY (QSIA) offers an Advanced Diploma of Screen & Media with a focus on training in the three key creative roles – writers, producers and directors – within the one cohort of collaborating students. We dedicate this course to THE COHEN BROTHERS, one of the most exceptional filmmaking teams in cinema history, and they are still just warming up. They take on all three roles collaboratively, and it is this intensity of shared creativity, knowledge and collaboration that we will explore in this course.
The course will be delivered as 16 Units delivered over 36 weeks. Attendance will be Monday, Tuesday– 10am to 5pm, Wednesday – 10am to 4pm, plus allowance for additional or alternative hours for involvement in productions when necessary.
As with all QSIA training, production is the key. Details of the production slate for this course remain to be finalised but will consist of a minimum of:
- A set of ultra-short dramas designed for multiple platforms
- A set of themed, linked, longer-duration shorts designed to work independently and to also lock together as an anthology feature.
It is widely acknowledged that there is an urgent need in the screen industry in this country for advanced professional development in these three roles, so it is vital QPIX run a course like this that concentrates on them. THE KEY CREATIVES PROJECT is a bold solution.
ALL QPIX SCREEN INDUSTRY ACADEMY COURSES
ARE NUMBER-DEPENDENT.
For this reason, the course will only run if we secure enough enrolments.
All enrolments will be based on and conditional on the overall mix and quality of your enrolment materials and the interview.
