Filmmakers come to QPIX to make films, or some help in getting them made.

They go through all kinds of things while they are doing it. The making of every film is a story in itself, and all of those stories are comedies in the best sense of the word, even if from the inside at the time it sometimes feels like a mix of The Grudge meets Fight Club, via Donnie Darko, all seen through the bloodied lens of Saw.

The characters in this ongoing sequence of wry, upbeat comedies are… YOURSELVES!.

You have come from a tertiary education in screen or media or games or other sectors and you want the ongoing practical experience making work so you can get your ideas up on screen. We know this about you because surveys of our clients and also of our students reveal that around 80% of you all are graduates from University for the most part, but also from the TAFE system or other private RTOs, and what you want is to make new work.

Or you have come out of the broad community and you want help getting your ideas to screen. You have a background in other places and jobs and lifestyles, but you know that your idea is perfect for your own local community, or for the larger community, or you think you might have stumbled on a great idea for the national and even international market. We know from working with you all that often you are right – you have. What you want to do is explore the idea, and how feasible it will be to make it given you have next to no experience. Again we know from working with you that if you have the time and can act on advice and maybe undertake some training, you can.

Or you are actually beginning to make it work for you and your small company or group, but you want to use the QPIX opportunities to build your screen credits, trial a drama or doco idea as a pilot for an extended feature or series, or engage with our longer-form series opportunities when they come up.
